Private Detectives Offer Hope for Disgraced Surgeon

Private detectives in Romania could be about to offer new hope to a surgeon accused of malpractice. Traian Romeo Ursu from Foisor Hospital in Bucharest was sentenced to a year in prison in 2005 and ordered to pay 500,000 Euros to a patient who claimed he could no longer walk after a hernia operation. The orthopaedist, who has always maintained his innocence, could be about to clear his name after private detectives obtained footage of the patient walking unaided around Bucharest city centre. The footage, obtained by private detectives as part of a criminal defence investigation, has been sent to Continue reading

FBI Offers Reward for Safe Return of Private Detective

The FBI is offering a huge reward for information leading to the safe return of a former investigator turned private detective on the anniversary of his disappearance. Bob Levinson was working as a private detective investigating a cigarette smuggling ring in Kish Island, Iran. He disappeared on 9th March 2007, just a day after arriving. Bob’s family suffered the unimaginable trauma of being sent a video of him being held in captivity three years later in 2010. He had been an FBI agent of 22 years before retiring in 1988 to become a private detective. The FBI, which is responsible Continue reading

Private Investigators Help Organisations save Millions

Private investigators are helping councils and businesses make massive savings. Caerphilly Council in Wales recently revealed it had saved millions of pounds with the help of private detectives investigating bogus compensation claims and tracing debtors. The Council said it had saved around £6 million over the past three years by employing private investigators to uncover false claims which cost millions each year. Other councils saved money by employing private investigators to recover overdue tax and investigate benefit fraud. Private investigators can also be effective in helping businesses in the same way – by tracing debtors and helping organisations take the Continue reading

Corporate Investigations London

From our inception as a company in the 1960s we have always offered our services nationwide. However, due to our beginnings in a small office in Manchester, many clients have long considered us to be a Manchester based company. As a result, we have occasionally been overlooked for work we feel we would have been able to complete to our usual high standards. When it comes to corporate investigations, London is the hub of the UK. With many businesses and corporations being based in London, it is important to us that our corporate investigations London service is recognised and seen Continue reading

Pilots’ Cheating Partners

A recent case led us to think about a particular client base that we may be able to assist on a more regular basis. This client, who has asked us to provide this post so that we may be of assistance to his colleagues in the future, was going through a difficult time because of suspicions over his partner’s actions. As a pilot, this client was spending a great deal of time away from home, and beginning to suspect that he may be the victim of a cheating partner. While he travelled the world with work, often being away for Continue reading

Action Fraud to Take on Fraud Investigation Role

Local police forces will no longer deal directly with fraud cases from April, 2013. Instead reports will be passed on to Action Fraud – a specialist fraud reporting unit set up in 2009 and run by the government’s National Fraud Authority (NFA). The Metropolitan Police is the latest force to sign up to the scheme, bringing the total of regional forces currently joined to 36 and the remainder of forces expected to be on board by the end of March. It is hoped Action Fraud will make it easier to secure convictions by allowing investigators to link seemingly unrelated incidents Continue reading

Missing Persons

When it comes to cases of missing persons, there is a great variation in the work that is available and what a private investigator can participate in. Our main missing persons work is related to tracing debtors and finding old friends or long lost relatives for our clients. These cases may not be what people typically think of when they think of missing persons. They are, however, important cases regarding people who are, although not typically, missing from the lives of the people who wish to find them. At, though, we do have a history of involvement in what Continue reading

"Assassin’s" Imaginative Twist on 419 Scam

Bizarre email scam Lancashire police have warned against a bizarre email scam that could have come straight from the script of a Cohen brothers movie. The emails are sent anonymously by a scammer claiming to be an assassin whose conscience has led to a sudden change of heart about their latest assignment – which just happens to be the email’s recipient. In an imaginative twist on the traditional 419 scam, the ‘assassin’ offers to call off the hit for a price.  He then asks for more cash in return for the name of his employer. Lancashire police didn’t disclose whether Continue reading

Cheating Partners

As a private detective agency we spend a great deal of time investigating cheating partners. This work has long been part of the private detective service and in our many years in the game we have caught out hundreds of cheating partners, helping many people to move on from difficulties in their relationship and get their lives back on track. On many occasions we have conducted investigations, only to find that the suspected cheating Ppartners were not involved in any kind of infidelity at all. This is obviously the most desired result, but is also, unfortunately, the least common. One Continue reading
